Crypto position size calculator

Decide first how much of your account you are willing to lose if the trade fails, then let the stop-loss distance set the size.

Enter account size, risk, entry and stop-loss.

How the position size calculator works

  1. Risk in dollars = account × risk percent.
  2. Stop distance = how far the stop is from entry, in percent.
  3. Position size = risk in dollars ÷ stop distance. If it is bigger than your account, that is the leverage you would need.

Questions

How much should I risk per trade?

Many traders use 0.5% to 2% of the account per trade so a losing streak does not wipe them out. It is a personal choice, not a rule.

What is risk/reward?

Potential gain at your target divided by potential loss at your stop. A 1:2 trade can be wrong half the time and still break even before fees.
