Crypto categories FAQ

Which crypto sector is up the most today?

Among sectors worth over $1B, Derivatives leads at +13.69% in 24 hours, while Yield Farming is weakest at −8.69%.

Why do the sector market caps add up to more than the whole market?

A coin can belong to several categories at once. Ethereum, for example, is a Layer 1 and a smart contract platform, so it counts towards both.

Where do the categories come from?

Category membership and sector totals come from CoinGecko, which tags each coin. Blockdeck adds its own pages and explanations for the most-followed sectors.
