how_it_works

How the if i had bought works

  1. We find the coin's daily closing price on the date you choose (or the first trading day after it, if the coin was not trading yet).
  2. Your amount divided by that price is how many coins you would hold.
  3. Those coins times today's live price is what they are worth now. Fees and taxes are not included.

Questions

Where do the historical prices come from?

Daily closing prices from exchange market data and CoinGecko, the same sources behind every chart on Blockdeck. History goes back to 2017 for most large coins.

Why does my date show a different buy price than I remember?

We use the daily closing price in UTC. Prices move during the day, so a purchase in the morning or evening could have been higher or lower.

Are fees and taxes included?

No. The result is the market value of the coins only, which is the fairest way to compare coins and dates.
